High 4 Management started long before High 4 Records was even a thought in my mind. It all started back in 2004 when a killer punk band from Oshawa called “Summer Hero” (RIP) bugged the hell out of me constantly at our weekly hockey games to manage them. I knew nothing about management at the time , nore did I have the time to take them under my wing and consistently told them no. After enough pestering, I listened to their demo and was blown away! That was when my decision to take on the task of managing these amazing musicians took place.

Shortly after taking on Summer Hero, another fine young band called “Crush Luther” came out of the woodwork’s looking for me to manage them. After hearing their disc..I knew I wanted to work with them and a handshake later, I now was managing 2 bands… I guess word got out because Cauterize (RIP) handed me a disc at hockey and then there were 3.

So I had 3 bands.. Summer Hero signed a deal to Black Box Recordings, and I loved Cauterize and Crush Luther so much I formed my own label and put out their albums myself.

In late 2007, a great female band called Magneta Lane (whom I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for years) departed from Paperbag Records and came on board with me as management. After landing them a deal with Last Gang Records, I’ve decided that maybe this whole management thing might stick after all.. And as of the summer of 2009, High 4 has now become a multifaceted company… Record Label and Management.. High 4 Management.. It has a nice ring.. Don’t ya think?
