Hey Everyone!

So.. surprise tour!

Technically we weren’t suppose to tour till January but we figured since an opportunity came up with Sloan we couldn’t say no. We’ve toured with the guys before and it was a blast, so here we go for a second round in 2009!

Now along with the good news we have a not so happy announcement to make for Magneta fans and for us

Sadly, French won’t be able to make it on this tour. Because of the late notice and spontaneous nature of the tour French must stay back and finish her exams cause she cant put back anymore school at this point and/or flunk out cause that would be a waste of a brain. She is actually a very smart cat and has always balanced music and university at the same time. And over the years has always put Magneta first and we support her now so she can be back on the road with us sooner rather then later, Its her last year folks!

She’ll be joining us again right after the holidays. French we luv ya!

We’ll be taking our good friend Kat from a favorite Toronto Indie band Lipstick Machine and making the trek together to some American cities and some Canadian… check out the tour dates here http://bit.ly/mlike!

The Bands CD release party in Toronto is happening this Friday (October 9th) at the Horseshoe Tavern. They’ll be playing with some killer bands, Organ Thieves, The Baretta’s and Birds Of Wales. Doors open at 9pm, cover is $8 and it is a 19+ show (sorry guys, we’ll try to get an all ages show out to you soon).

Magneta Lanes newest album “Gambling With God” is in stores TODAY!

“In a way I’ve always felt like we’re the band that never quite fit in anywhere.” Valentine explains, “People always said we were too indie sounding for the pop world but too pop for the indie world. We’ve always been confident being the black sheep because in a way we’ve set ourselves apart from everyone else. We want everyone to love our music for what it is. You can’t please the whole world. You can only do what you feel is right and hope that someone understands. End of story.”

Magneta Lane first released The Constant Lover (2004) and Dancing With Daggers (2006) on Paperbag Records. Now graduating to Canadian big hitter Last Gang Records they present you with they’re most infectious piece of work to date, Gambling With God (2009) produced and recorded by Jon Drew. And once again, always staying true to themselves Magneta Lane will show you what everybody’s been talking about.

That’s right boys and girls.. the new CRUSH LUTHER album “Some People Have No Good To Give” drops everywhere on September 29 2009!!

We’re almost as excited as you are because this album is AWESOME!!
